Public Exams
The awarding bodies have designated the following days as 'Contingency Days' for the public summer 2025 examinations:

Wednesday 11th June 2025 afternoon.

Wednesday 25th June 2025 full day.
Students MUST make sure they are available on these dates ( even if they do not have an exam) These contingency days are designed to be used in the event of national or significant local disruption to examinations and apply to all schools nationally.
All candidates are expected to abide by the JCQ Exam Regulations as well as the Winchmore School Rules during Exam time. JCQ ‘Information for Candidates’ should be read in conjunction with the ‘Exams Expectations’ document and can be found under ‘Exam Information for Parents & Students’.
Summer
Internal Exams
At Winchmore Internal Examinations (MOCKS) are currently run in January (immediately after the Christmas holidays) for Yr 11 & Yr 13 and at the end of June for Yr 10 and Yr 12.
These mock exams are run in the same way as the public exams with the same expectations with regards to abiding by both the JCQ Exam regulations & the Winchmore School Rules. Students must attend all their timetabled exams and arrive on time.

JCQ
Who are JCQ?
JCQ is the Joint Council of Qualification. The 8 largest Awarding Bodies are members of the JCQ, which acts as a voice for these Awarding Bodies.
JCQ monitors all exam administration, exam invigilation and exam management at individual schools. All Public and Internal Exams are run according to JCQ Regulations and Guidance
The following JCQ ‘Information for Candidate’ documents are the most important documents that relate to candidates during their time in KS4 and KS5 at Winchmore.

The Winchmore Exam documents below are to be used in conjunction with, and are guided by, the JCQ Regulations that Winchmore follows.

RESULTS/POST RESULTS
The exam ‘Results Days’ for summer 2024 examinations are:

Thursday 15th August 2024 - AS/ A Level / Other Key Stage 5 Exams - 8am

Thursday 22nd August 2024 - GCSE / Other Key Stage 4 Exams - time tbc
Further details will be distributed to both parents and students closer to the time.
Certificates
Exam Certificates arrive at the school in the month before the Christmas holidays (following the summer exam series).
Students in Yr 11 and Yr 13 will be invited to a presentation evening at the school where the certificates and any awards are presented to the students.
Any certificates not collected at presentation evening will be held at the school for 12 months from the date of the presentation evening, at which point the Awarding Bodies require the school to destroy them.
If you are looking to obtain your certificates after the 12 months have passed, please contact the Awarding Bodies directly to order replacement certificates. There will be a fee payable to the Awarding Body for replacement certificates ordered. Links to the Awarding Body Replacement certificate pages can be found below:
