Winchmore International School

International Partnerships

Winchmore School is proud of its reputation as an international school. In this area, you will find lots of details about our international partnerships, including some of the international student exchange visits that have taken place over the years.

At Winchmore School we aim to prepare our students for the future. Connecting people internationally is a vital approach to sharing experiences, similarities, knowledge, skills and respecting differences across the world ignites our passion to become open-minded global citizens.

For a number of years, we have enjoyed student exchange visits with our partner schools in China and Spain.  We have created a partnership with a school in Smolensk, Russia and have recently welcomed students and staff from Navopecherska School, Ukraine.  The main purpose of the student exchanges is to develop and deepen our knowledge, understanding and relationships with other schools across the world.  We look forward to more inspirational exchange visits in the future.

Should you have suggestions about how we can further develop our international partnerships, or if you have any questions, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Visit to Spain 2022

In June 2022, 15 Year 10 students attended a trip to Spain. Students started the trip in Murcia where Winchmore has a Spanish partner school (San Vicente de Paul). Students had the chance to visit the city and had a videocall (due to Covid restrictions) with the students in the school to get to know them better.

We also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Spanish school to further our partnership and create further opportunities for students and staff to develop our links and enrich our language experiences.

Video Call with Spanish Partner School

On Friday 14th June, a group of our students had the exciting opportunity to participate in a virtual video call with a class from our partner school in Spain. The call which took place at 10.30am, allowed students from both schools to connect, practice their language skills, and learn about each other's cultures.

This exchange program is a fantastic benefit to our school's status as an international institution. By fostering connections with schools abroad, we provide our students with a unique opportunity to: develop intercultural understanding, sharpen language skills and broaden their horizons.

Visit to New York 2022

In July 2022, 15 students and 4 staff visited New York. At Winchmore we believe ‘reading and writing floats on a sea of words’.  The adventure of being in New York stirred up an ocean of words which inspired writing, music, art, drama, dance and so much new learning which continued long after our return to London.
